Dear Skating Family,
Slovene Skating Union is proudly honored to have you as our guests for
ISU Junior World Figure Skating Championships® 2006. After 36 years Ljubljana,
the Slovene capital, is again hosting the ISU Championships - it is a long
period, but no fear, new generations of people, dedicated to figure skating
are in place and ready to make your stay pleasant and successful as "once
upon a time" to your forerunners at 1967 ISU European and 1970 ISU World
Figure Skating Championships.
For sure some of competitors together with their coaches and officials still
have unforgettable remembrance on ISU Junior Grand Prix competitions and
Finals held on Bled and further on to the worldwide recognized International
Triglav Trophy held at Jesenice/Kranjska gora, then Dragon Trophy (in
Ljubljana) and European Criterium (in Celje). We will put all efforts making
you to remember the Worlds in Ljubljana as well....
As 2006 edition is going to be the first Junior Worlds after Winter Olympic
Games, we are surely going to meet the contestants for the next Olympics in
2010. Beside we will welcome some new names, just becoming juniors at their
first Junior Worlds. We are waiting for you all to see your personal best
skating in Slovene main multipurpose arena Hala Tivoli where more then 20
world championships in different sports had been successfully organized
during its history.
So welcome in Ljubljana, Slovenia, the country on the sunny side of Alps
where you can experience at each next exit that the byways are more
attractive then highways.
Tjasa Andree - Prosenc,
President of Organizing Committee
